Self-Care
ADVOCACY

Rest First. Then Change the World.

Self-care goes beyond the simple tropes of ‘take care of yourself’ and commoditized quick fixes. Historically, women are often placed in a position where they must choose between their own needs and the demands of a society that doesn’t support them. From their roles as primary caretakers and passionate advocates speaking up against the status quo, their emotional labor comes at too high of a cost.

Our collaborative self-care advocacy campaigns provide accessible resources to unlearn our societal narratives and redefine what health, beauty, and identity mean in our modern world. Because we can't help the world if we don't help ourselves first.

CAMPAIGNS

We partner with brands on conversations focused on prioritizing our mental health, talking about the deeper issues, and unlocking our potential through self-care and community care. Here are a few of our recent conversations.

#WeHearHer Conversation Week

In honor of Women’s Equality Day, SeekHer launched #WeHearHer Conversation Week to challenge the culture of silence that hinders women's workplace success. As an extension of the #WeHearHer Advocacy Council, the initiative calls on leaders and organizations to create supportive environments that foster open dialogue and empower women.

#NoIsBeautiful in Motherhood

From endless chores and childcare to the added stressors from a career, job, or employer, the pressures have never been more heightened for moms today. In partnership with Pure Leaf, we launched the second year of the “No” Grants program in May 2023 to award $400,000 in grants to help moms alleviate some of the real financial pressures of juggling it all in motherhood.

#LookForward

Project

Societal norms have traditionally held women back from their optimal well-being — especially as unrealistic ideals and cultural pressures continue to limit them from feeling optimistic about their future. Our two-year partnership with RoC initiated a community program grounded in mental health advocacy and resource-sharing for the next generation of optimists and their parents.

#HappyInsideOut

Feeling seen and supported is key in our mental health, yet it can be especially difficult for those who identify within a marginalized racial or ethnic group.  We initiated our multi-year partnership with OLLY in 2022 to provide community care resources and programs benefiting women and practitioners who identify as BIPOC —  so we we can support women to access the support they deserve across all cultural & lived experiences.

#NoIsBeautiful

More than ever, we’re seeing the effects when women aren’t supported in the workplace so she can better prioritize her own well-being & success. In partnership with Pure Leaf, we launched the “No’ Grants program in March 2022 to award $200,000 in grant funding and community care resources that support women in saying “no” to work and “yes” to what matters most.

#Stress

AwarenessMonth

According to the Global Organization for Stress, 75% of Americans reported increased feelings of stress during the COVID-19 pandemic. Throughout April 2021 during #StressAwarenessMonth, our Giving Back initiative with Nutrafol discussed the impact of COVID-related physical and emotional stressors on our mental health and how to better support our well-being as we move through life’s challenges.

#UnlockYour

InnerMagic

Our most meaningful shifts begin from the inside out — by overcoming barriers hindering us from being the best humans we can be. With support from OLLY, Tru Alchemy, General Assembly, and Athleta in Fall 2021, we hosted 4 weeks of insightful conversations, self-care resources, and a community fundraiser to unlock our limitless potential and bring positive change to our world.
