DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Let’s Celebrate And Live As Our Full, Authentic Selves.

According to the US Department of Health & Human Services, BIPOC communities are less likely to receive a diagnosis, access mental health services, and often receive poorer quality of care. Though it varies across racial groups, they are 40-70% less likely to receive treatment than their white counterparts.

Yet these statistics only show part of the story.

The lack of diversity & representation in a white-dominant field makes it difficult to find culturally responsive care, with only 14% of mental health professionals identifying as BIPOC.

With additional cultural factors and generational stigmas to overcome, BIPOC women contend with unique barriers from racial disparities that make seeking help a challenge .

BIPOC women face compounding cultural and racial biases that can severely limit their ability to grow their careers and be viewed as a leader in the workforce.

OUR STRATEGY

We’re committed to tackling the unique barriers limiting BIPOC women from getting the help they deserve. By supporting our SeekHer Scholars and community partners that are seeking to address the intersections of race, gender & mental health, we can advance women’s leadership representation by:

Expanding Quality Care

Seeking help for mental health can feel overwhelming, but it becomes even more so when one already feels isolated and misunderstood by a society that doesn’t center their needs. We are dedicated to amplifying community support with culturally-competent mental health professionals to ease the process of finding a practitioner who celebrates one’s identity.

Centering Diverse Voices

In order to create opportunities that help people lead from a more authentic place, we must first learn to celebrate our diverse range of perspectives. Through mentorship and training opportunities, we collaborate with our community partners dedicated to uplifting the voices of our next generation of leaders & advocates to show why representation always matters.
